Their children were: Nasir al-Din Mirza, Ashraf Khanum Fakhr al-Dawlah, Shukuh al-Saltanah, and Shukuh al-Dawlah. According to Colonel Kosogovski, two groups were the most influential in Muzaffar al-Din Shah's court: one was Surur al-Saltanah and her brother, ʻAbd al-Husayn Mirza Farmanfarma, and the other was Amir Bahadur's. Many petitions were received by Surur al-Saltanah and answered through her. Surur al-Saltanah made evening appointments for her brother, ʻAbd al-Husayn Mirza Farmanfarma with Muzaffar al-Din Shah. When Farmanfarma was dismissed from the governance of Fars and exiled to the ʻAtabat in 1899, Surur al-Saltanah's mediation resulted in Farmanfarma's wife, ʻIzzat al-Dawlah, and children being sent to Baghdad. After Muhammad ʻAli Shah's deposition from the throne, Surur al-Saltanah attempted in vain to make her son, Nasir al-Din Mirza, the king.
