Women's Worlds in Qajar Iran

Mirza Aqa Khan, known as Muhandis (the engineer), was the son of Nasr Allah Khan (the grandson of Shah Rustam Bayg) and the brother of Zarrin Taj Khanum. The family of Mirza Aqa Khan chose the last name "Gharbi" and the family of Zarrin Taj chose the last name "Sharqi." According to the family, Mirza Aqa Khan, along with a team of Germans, drafted the first map of Tehran. He married ‘Ismat Khanum and their children were Nasr Allah Khan, Ashraf Khanum, Puran (Khanum Khanumha), and Aqa Muhammad ‘Ali Khan.
