Question and answer about mahr obligation
Since Zayd had guaranteed the mahr on behalf of his son, after his death, should the mahr be deducted from the original (undivided) inheritance, similar to all of the debts of the deceased, or from the son [the husband]’s share? Sadiq ibn Muhammad has answered that it should be treated like other debts.
