History
Goli Emami has preserved these documents, which belonged to the registry office of Ayatollah Muhammad Ja‘far ‘Alavi, the grandfather of Karim Emami (Goli Emami’s husband). Ayatollah ‘Alavi was a highly esteemed person in Shiraz and people trusted him with their financial and legal documents. These documents were kept in large wooden tea chests (Karim Emami’s father was a tea merchant between Iran and India); after the death of Karim Emami’s parents, a large number of them were unfortunately thrown away. Goli Emami saved the remaining documents, from which the current collection has been selected based on the relevance of their content to WWQI.
