Muhammad Hasan Khan Sani‘ al-Dawlah (I‘timad al-Saltanah)
Son of Khvurshid Khanum (Husaynquli Khan Qajar's grandchild) and Mirza ʻAli Iʻtimad al-Saltanah; his second wife was ‘Izzat Malik Ashraf al-Saltanah.
Muhammad Hasan Khan was a student of the first program at Dar al-Funun. In 1854 or 1855, he served Amir Qasim Khan, the Crown Prince to Nasir al-Din Shah. In 1858 or 1859, he was the Regent in the Government of Khuzistan and Luristan. At the age of seventeen, he became the Governor of Shushtar. In 1861 or 1862, he was appointed as the Deputy to his father, the Minister of Justice. During 1863-1868, he studied in France and upon his return became the translator for Nasir al-Din Shah. In 1871 or 1872, he became the head of the national print and translation center, which published newspapers such as Iran-i Saltanati, Mirrikh, and ‘Ilmi
