Shahnaz Azad (1901-1961), daughter of Hasan Rushdiyah and Abu al-Qasim Azad Maraghah'i, was the editor and publisher of Namah-i banuvan. In 1914, Shahnaz Azad and her husband formed a group “Banuvan va banu’ian” in which women and close male relatives participated. In February 1926, they transformed this group to an association named “Jam‘iyat-i hamdilan” which advocated removing the facial veil of women and their participation in social life. Close
