The first letter, dated March 10, 1904, is about departing from Pusht-i Misar, getting the list of pottery makers from Haji Mirza Yahya, the well-being of people of the andarun, whose letters are enclosed, Aqa Isma‘il Aqa’s recovery and the decrease of the epidemic in the city, the rain and cooling of the weather, and requesting an almond-shaped agate seal. Another letter, in which the writer refers to the addressee’s letter from the previous month, is about Aqa Kuchak’s recovery and the decrease of the epidemic, the Shah’s visit to the city for the Salam ceremony, sending four mans [unit of weight] of onions, fifty eggplants, a bag of apples, and some medicine via Mashhadi Ja‘far, embroidery tools, sending the letters to Rasht, and advising the addressee to postpone their journey until the weather cools down and is appropriate for Aqa Kuchak to travel. The last letter, dated 19 Shawwal, is about managing the steward’s accounts, the decrease of the epidemic in the region, having some lace in storage, meeting with Mansur al-Mulk, the governor of Lahijan and the older son of Muntazam al-Saltanah, who requested more time to pay back their debts, Basir al-Tujjar’s accounts, the wages of the pottery makers, their expenses, and their progress, workers not coming from Khalkhal due to the epidemic, and the writer’s concern about depositions and appointments so close to the new year.
