Letter by Mahdi Ibn ‘Ali’ [probably Muntasir Lashkar] to his nephew, announcing that he received all of the official rights and titles of his late father and that the writer has been appointed pay master. Since the addressee cannot read, the writer will not write confidential matters in this letter and suggests that the next letter be read to him by the wife of his uncle [probably Mirza Mahdi Khan’s wife]; he informs him of his return in the near future and advises him to pay attention to his studies. Mirza Mahdi Khan tells his nephew to address the envelopes to the office of Kishik Bashi, Mirza Mahdi Khan the pay master, asks him to give Haji Khan Yavar’s letters to Muhammad Khan or Muhammad ‘Ali, and sends greetings to addressee’s sisters and to Zahra Sultan Khanum (his cousin) and Muhammad Khan.
