Dear Bahai Sister Dr. Clock:,

Enclosed you will please find a draft for forty three pounds & seven shillings (£43.7.0) on the Imperial Bank of Persia. I received a cheque to this amount from Mrs Arthur O. Platt of 667 So. Berendo St. Los Angeles on Th. night before last (i.e. on May 20) wishing me to exchange it and send it on to you. No doubt you will have heard from Mrs Platt concerning this money by the time you receive this letter.

Luckily her letter was received just in time, as yesterday morning I had the intention of coming down to Bournemouth for a few days. I got to the city to my bank & left the cheque there to cash it for me & I got a draft from I.B.P. to your name & managed to catch the train in time for Bournemouth, though all in rush.

However I am glad to have been able to do this service for our dear Bahai friend Mrs Platt. Indeed it makes me very happy to be of some service to the friends. This also gives me an opportunity of writing a few lines to you in memory of The old Times. It is over eight years ago that I met you in Teheran. I expect you have had a wonderful & happy Times there with Dr Moody & the friends in Teheran all these times & no doubt you have done a good deal to heal the suffering & the illness of a good number of people both physically & spiritually.

During the war I have been hard at work. I was attached to a military hospital, part of the time in London & partly on the East Coast. The work has been of extreme interest to me. My [page 2, image 77] work has been entirely with the broken ones of the war. What is the use of ones life if one does not use it to help the healing of the world specially in a time like during the war. Therefore I felt I must do something towards the healing of the broken ones of the war, no matter however small that help is. Though my work has been like a drop in an ocean, yet it has been I hope of some service both to the world & to myself. I have, during the war, written a little from time to time to my brother Dr. Arastoo Khan about some of my work. No doubt you have heard from him about it. And I have often thought of you, Dr. Moody, Miss Cappes [Kappes], Miss Stewart & the friends & have often remembered all in my letters to my Dr. brother - Dr. Arastoo in Teheran.

Since the armistice we have had continuous news of & from the beloved Master. Imagine how happy & joyful we have been & are to hear from the Beloved & to learn that He & the friends in Haifa & Acre are well. We have had several wonderful & most precious tablets from the Master since the armistice addressed to different friends here & elsewhere, all of which have been most exhilarating & encouraging as they always are. I have sent copy of some of them to Teheran to my Dr. brother & no doubt you & the friends have seen them.

You will be interested to hear that I have the intention of leaving for Haifa & Acre. It is the Master’s wish & He calls me to Haifa as soon as I can get away & as soon as my duties permit me. I don’t know at the present what my plans for the future are. I have just resigned my hospital [page 3, image 78] duties for the time being. As I have been working continually without any stop or holiday since Sept 1917 so I am having a little rest & am seeing to my works & etc. peacefully before I leave for the East. I had the intention of leaving England in this month, but I cannot do that because of certain works & duties & etc. But I very much hope to be able to start for the East, if possible sometime next month. But any letter written to me addressed to my London permanent [“permanent” underlined] address (i.e. 15 Wood Lane, Shepherds Bush London W.12. Eng.) will always find me wherever I may be.

I just hear that the friends in U.S.A. have had a most delightful & successful convention in New York that the Message of Love, Unity & Peace of the Beloved has been well responded to. I have just had the Photo of the delegates at the Convention sent me & also the program of the Convention. And our good friend Mrs Platt has kindly sent me a copy of the song composed by our Bahai sister Mrs Waite (whom I had the pleasure of meeting at the Roses Congress in London in 1911) who has composed it for the Convention.

Kindly give my hearty Bahai love & greetings to Dr. Moody, Miss Cappes & Miss Stewart & to all the dear friends. I hope they are all happy & well.

Our dear Bahai brother Dr. Esslemont is now sitting opposite me & wishes to be remembered to you & all the friends. Also all the friends in British Isles send their best Bahai love & greetings to all the friends in Teheran. I am registering this letter & I hope it will reach you safely. Kindly acknowledge the receipt of this letter & the enclosed draft both to Mrs Platt in Los Angeles & to myself.
