‘Abd al-Husayn Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk to Surur al-Saltanah
‘Abd al-Husayn Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk (Taymurtash) writes to Surur al-Saltanah complaining that she is sensitive and unfair and that in the past she had had the same assumptions but she was convinced after listening to what he had told her. Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk reassures her of his love and tells her that he was not faking sickness to avoid seeing her, rather not learning about her message soon enough as well as being sick with the flue were the reasons that he could not come to see her. He also complains that Surur is unkind to him and asks her to change her mind about not seeing each other in the month of Muharram, that if it was a sin, all men should live out of their houses in Muharram. He is worried about Surur’s backache and headache and asks her to let him know of her well-being.
