‘Abd al-Husayn Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk to Surur al-Saltanah

‘Abd al-Husayn Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk to Surur al-Saltanah

‘Abd al-Husayn Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk (Taymurtash) writes to Surur al-Saltanah declaring his love and asking why she is upset and whether he has done something wrong; he tells her that other people do not know how much he loves her and she should not listen to what they say; if she is concerned about the photograph, he declares that Surur has all his heart and if there are some memorabilia from the past, they were only reminders of the madness of his younger self and tells her that she can keep the photograph. Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk, then, describes his meeting with Fakham al-Saltanah and how Fakham al-Saltanah had discussed their issue with Nayyir Qudsiyah and they had agreed that Mu‘azzaz and Surur could start their life together sometime in or after the month of Safar. Then, he talks about the dispute that Salar had referred to in his letter, that it was between an English bank and a person from Nayshabur, causing a dispute between the English General Consulate and [Salar?]; thus Mu‘azzaz had to travel to Nayshabur. This letter is accompanied by a letter with Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk’s seal and a poem.
