Documents related to women are the following: seq. 23: “I, Haj ʻAli Asghar Bayg, officer at the royal post service, have received all the jewelry of my deceased wife, Nabat Khanum, which was left with the wife of Haji Vakil al-Dawlah for safekeeping, plus three documents that were not listed. December 29, 1886”; seq. 27: a few years ago, the deceased Nabat Khanum from Tehran, the wife of the deceased ʻAli Asghar Bayg, officer at the royal post service, had left 1000 tumans with Haji Aqa Muhammad Hasan Vakil al-Dawlah, representative of the government of the United Kingdom, who claims on the receipt that he will pay back this amount within a year, December 1881 [or January 1882]. On December 14, 1882, Nabat Khanum made her will and specified that this money, in addition to her other belongings, be given to charity on her behalf; seq. 28: a list of belongings of the deceased Sadiq Khan, the physician, that should be divided among his two daughters, Hajiyah Kawkab Sultan Khanum and Huma Sultan Khanum, is given in this document. Now that the daughters have received all these belongings they are responsible for paying the one-eighth [her inheritance share] plus her mahr, to the mother of Haji Aqa. April, 28, 1886; seq. 31: writing by Haji Mulla Ahmad, which was copied and sealed by two women, Kawkab Khanum and Huma Khanum. May 13, 1886; seq. 43: Murtaza Quli Mirza and his children, Sultan Mahmud Mirza, Riza Quli Mirza, and Fakhr al-Hajiyah Mahin Banu Khanum, after the death of their mother, Bibi, are her inheritors and they state that 1800 tumans is the money that remained from the settlements of the farms in Haft Ashiyan, Chuqa Kunduz and Dih Jani, which was left for safekeeping with Haji Ahmad, the merchant from Isfahan, for the deceased Bibi. December 6, 1886.
