My dear Bahai sister, Mrs. Platt:

Your precious letter rec’d. The draft came through safely and was at once honored by “The Imperial Bank of Persia” It is by all means the best way to send funds, direct in my name through the Imperial Bank. [“direct… Bank” underlined] They have enough to do in Haifa and it takes longer - your draft of $300.00 made three transfers [page 2, left side of image 105] by the time it reached me. The draft for give pounds netted here twenty-four tomans. [“twenty-four tomans” underlined] I have told the principal of boys school to select a bright lad from the primary class for the Jenabi Fazel scholarship. The first and second years tuition is fourteen & one half tomans each [“each” underlined] year. In the higher classes as he climbs the price advances to thirty tomans [“thirty tomans” underlined] for 7th class. [page 3, right side of image 105] We have never asked more than the original eighteen dollars from America, trying to make the average meet needs. When the exchange was down to half value, we received only one half toman per dollar but always credited America with full amount sent. The year before brother Harmen died scholarships money was greatly in arrears and at his request it was wiped out and we started [page 4, left side of image 104] anew. Last year also no draft [“no draft” underlined] has been rec’d although I had word eleven months ago that $400.00 had been collected. The boys school is in great straits for their money & I have often asked to have it sent direct by draft to me, but we are still waiting and hoping from day to day to hear from it. The Beloved has told Hadji Ameen to give the school fifty tomans per month to keep it alive. As soon as possible I will send the Los Angeles Assembly name & photo of Fazel’s scholar. Your little girl “Farogheyha” is doing nicely. She has been promoted to 3 class [“3 class” underlined]. Love & greeting to all in His service.
