From Muluk Iʻtizadi to Maymanat Jaʻfari

The letter reads: “Dear friend, I received your letter on Thursday night and it made me very happy. I pray to God, saying, ‘if you are going to take everything from me, please do not take these two dear friends, who I have known for 18 years.’ I always pray for your health and Khanum Vafadust’s health. I saw your letter for Khanum Vafadust when I was with her and we were waiting for Asghar to bring our lunch. Then your letter for me arrived and she suggested that we write both of our replies to you on one letter. However, thinking of you tonight, I couldn’t wait any longer so I decided to write. Tomorrow is the teachers’ exercise day. We work out two days a week for two hours with Murtazavi and Iʻtimadi, the high school teacher who is one of our relatives. But you are missed a lot. Each teacher gives workout exercises to her/his own students. I fell down while I was running after Misriyan and Imami. The woman principal says I cannot run because I’ve gained weight. Another news item is that I’ve been notified that I will become the teacher for the fifth and sixth grades of the elementary school, Hifdah-i Day, in Mashhad. That would be a bit troublesome for me. My sisters and I send greetings to Khanum Jan and you. Yours, Muluk Iʻtizadi. I am waiting for your long, detailed response.”
