Petitions submitted to Saʻid al-Sultan: one from Maymunabad villagers objecting to Bihjat Khanum’s way of dividing donkeys–Bihjat Khanum is the wife of Saʻid al-Sultan; one by Ziba Vaziri, a relative of Asif Aʻzam, requesting payment of the revenue of half of Amirabad [village] following Rustam Khan (her husband)’s death and asking for ʻAli Muhammad Bayg’s help— ʻAli Muhammad Bayg is Ziba Vaziri’s overseer and Ziba Khanum claims that she inherited half of the village from her late husband, but in this petition she is merely asking for revenue and not for the half of the village itself; Sharif’s petition about being arrested for escaping conscription and being the victim of extortion by Fath Allah, the village chief, to the tune of 5 rials, as well as his and his family’s having been beaten; Habib Allah Khan’s petition about being arrested by military officers in Gandab village and his house being robbed by ʻAbd Allah Afrasiyab, a drafted soldier; one from people from Narinjak village regarding the water shortage and the troubles that have followed. Villagers requested that he send qanat-diggers and reduce taxes; one from people from Amirabad village about Asad Allah Khan’s stealing their property, including animals, wheat, oat, etc., with his son’s and daughter’s assistance; March villagers’ and elders’ petition about a request to stop the overseer of the village from transporting the rest of wheat (the spring seeds) [to Sanandaj] and threatening mass protest and abandonment of the village; one by an overseer about the harvest, describing four bandits in Gardmiran village and their harassment and murder of Zar ʻAli’s wife, who was pregnant.
