Item information is based on source data from CIJOH. Additional information provided by CIJOH:”Ruh Allah Khalpari, writer and journalist, in military uniform (standing, fifth from left). Khalpari, Ayinahchi, and Talasazan families. Ruh Allah Khalpari was one of the founders of ʻAlam-i Yahud newspaper in 1946. In addition to editing the crossword puzzle for ʻAlam-i Yahud, Khalpari wrote commentaries on the Turah for the magazine. Many of his articles included comparative studies of verses from the Quran and the Hebrew Bible. In the mid-1950s, Khalpari, Rahmat Allah Dilijani, and Ya‘qub Urian (one of the candidates for the seat of the Jewish representative in the Majlis) started to publish Danial, which folded five years into its publication. Danial was almost exclusively comprised of news about Israel and translations of articles from Israeli papers and magazines published in the new state. Those Iranian leftist Jewish publications that supported the Tudah party regarded Danial as a Zionist paper.”
