Some details on items of clothing and accessories featured in the picture: Kolah-e nezami (military hat), European style jacket (with lapel), Kolijeh or sardari, jeliqeh (vest), la-sari also called mu band (gold ornament worn over the forehead), gardan band-e ashrafi (necklace made of gold coins), hair was held stiffly in place with tragacanth (katira), a reddish gum extract from a plant, charqad-e gars (gaz) (a veil made of a delicate, heavily starched tulle), charqad-e zari (a gold-embroidered silk veil), eqd-e ru (ornament around the neck) made of yasmahi (yasmay) (gold fish with gold coins (ashrafi) attached to them), towq-e tala (gold necklace, usually with gem inlays), hel-tala (bracelet made of large gold beads), finger-tips were dipped in henna as a mark of beauty before the introduction of nail-polish, shaliteh, and shalvar.
